A senate RESOLUTION

 

TO CONGRATULATE THE Orangeburg Technology Center TEAM FOR WINNING THE 2024 Skills USA Chapter Display State Championship.

 

Whereas, the South Carolina Senate is proud to recognize the Orangeburg Technology Center team for winning the 2024 Skills USA Chapter Display state championship; and

 

Whereas, under the guidance of their instructor, Tracey Scoville, this remarkable team competed in the state leadership competition for South Carolina Skills USA and emerged victorious, securing the top spot. Their impressive achievement includes being three-time back-to-back state champions, and they were rightfully awarded a gold medal for their exceptional work; and

 

Whereas, the 2023-2024 SkillsUSA theme, "No Limits," inspired and intrigued the team. The members of the team have gained greater confidence in pursuing their goals by venturing beyond their comfort zones. This journey has encouraged them to experiment with new ideas and tackle challenges that once seemed daunting and impossible. Despite their diverse career interests, they united to create their chapter and showcase the boundless possibilities that lie ahead; and

 

Whereas, the members of the Orangeburg Technology Center team, Captain Alexandra Villeda de la Cruz, Ashely Tatum, Cinthia Gomez, Amare Haynes, Jordan King, Nadezious Hill, and Tymir Chism, are already diligently preparing for the upcoming national competition in Atlanta, Georgia; and

 

Whereas, the members of the South Carolina Senate appreciate the pride and recognition that the Orangeburg Technology Center team has brought to its school and community and look forward to a future filled with further accomplishments by the team and its talented members.  Now, therefore,

 

Be it resolved by the Senate:

 

That the members of the South Carolina Senate, by this resolution, congratulate the Orangeburg Technology Center team for winning the 2024 Skills USA Chapter Display state championship.

 

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to the members of the Orangeburg Technology Center team and instructor, Tracey Scoville.
