A SENATE RESOLUTION
TO CONGRATULATE THE COLUMBIA CIVITAN CLUB UPON THE OCCASION OF ITS NINETIETH ANNIVERSARY AND TO COMMEND THE CLUB FOR ITS MANY YEARS OF DEDICATED SERVICE TO THE COLUMBIA COMMUNITY.
Whereas, the members of the South Carolina Senate are pleased to recognize the Columbia Civitan Club as it celebrates this important milestone on November 4, 2019; and
Whereas, this long-serving club was chartered on November 4, 1929; and
Whereas, today, the Columbia Civitan Club continues to make outstanding contributions to individual and community needs and particularly focuses on those people having developmental and intellectual disabilities. Its work with the Babcock Center, Special Olympics, and Epworth Early Intervention Center is commendable; and
Whereas, the Senate greatly appreciates the exemplary service of the Columbia Civitan Club, and the local club plays an integral role in Civitan International's service to the State of South Carolina, the nation, and the world. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the Senate:
That the members of the South Carolina Senate, by this resolution, congratulate the Columbia Civitan Club upon the occasion of its ninetieth anniversary and commend the club for its many years of dedicated service to the Columbia community.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to the Columbia Civitan Club.
