AN ACT

 

1Amending Title 34 (Game) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
2Statutes, in hunting and furtaking licenses, further
3providing for license requirements and for unlawful acts
4concerning licenses.

5The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
6hereby enacts as follows:

7Section 1. Sections 2701(a) and 2711(a.1) of Title 34 of the
8Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes are amended to read:

9§ 2701. License requirements.

10(a) General rule.--Except in defense of person or property
11or pursuant to exemptions authorized in this title or by
12regulation of the commission for implementing a mentored [youth]
13hunting program, every person, prior to engaging in any of the
14privileges granted by this title, shall first obtain the
15applicable license subject to any conditions or other
16requirements imposed by this title.

1§ 2711. Unlawful acts concerning licenses.

3(a.1) Exemption.--For the sole purpose of implementing and
4enhancing a mentored [youth] hunting program within this
5Commonwealth, the commission may establish regulations exempting
6certain limited [youth] hunting activities from the prohibitions
7specified in subsection (a)(1), (3), (5) and (8). Such exemption
8shall include a provision limiting a mentored [youth] person 
9participating in a mentored [youth] hunting program to the
10receipt of no more than one antlerless deer license in each
11license year.

13Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
