A RESOLUTION

1

Urging the members of the Judicial Branch to voluntarily reject

the annual cost-of-living adjustment to their salaries.

3

WHEREAS, In light of the rising State budget and the weakened

4

condition of the United States economy that continues to

negatively affect the citizens of this nation, many people are

the foreseeable future; and

WHEREAS, Changes to the Laws of Pennsylvania in 1995

10

authorize an automatic cost-of-living adjustment for the annual

11

salaries of various elected officials in the Legislative,

Executive and Judicial Branches of State Government; and

13

WHEREAS, Some of those elected officials in the General

1

increase his salary and may cancel the increases for Executive

2

Branch personnel as well; and

3

WHEREAS, The elected officials of the Judicial Branch who are

8

therefore be it

9

RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives urge the members
