AN ACT

Amending Title 42 (Judiciary and Judicial Procedure) of the

Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes, requiring the

3

nonprevailing party in a civil action to pay the reasonable

4

attorney fees of the prevailing party along with all court

5

costs.

The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania

7

hereby enacts as follows:

Section 1.  Title 42 of the Pennsylvania Consolidated

9

Statutes is amended by adding a section to read:

10

§ 7703.  Attorney fees and costs.

11

Notwithstanding any other provision of law or rule of court

12

to the contrary, all of the reasonable attorney fees and court

13

costs of the prevailing party to a civil action shall be borne

14

by the nonprevailing party or parties in equal amounts.

15

Section 2.  This act shall take effect in 60 days.
