| AN ACT |
| |
1 | Providing for publication of information concerning online |
2 | learning opportunities offered by Pennsylvania colleges and |
3 | universities; and imposing duties on the Department of |
4 | Education. |
5 | The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania |
6 | hereby enacts as follows: |
7 | Section 1. Short title. |
8 | This act shall be known and may be cited as the Online |
9 | Learning Act. |
10 | Section 2. Duty of Department of Education. |
11 | The Department of Education shall publish a directory that |
12 | includes information about Pennsylvania colleges and |
13 | universities which offer online degrees and certificates. |
14 | Section 3. Publication. |
15 | The Department of Education shall publish the directory in |
16 | the Pennsylvania Bulletin as a notice, codify it in the |
17 | Pennsylvania Code and make it available on the Department of |
18 | Education's Internet website. |

1 | Section 4. Contents. |
2 | The information published under section 1 shall include: |
3 | (1) A list of the degree programs offered by each |
4 | institution which is listed in the directory. |
5 | (2) A list of each institution's online degree programs. |
6 | (3) An articulation of the courses within each |
7 | institution's degree programs. |
8 | (4) The costs of each institution's degree programs. |
9 | (5) Eligibility for each institution's degree programs. |
10 | (6) Direct links to each institution's degree programs. |
11 | Section 5. Regulatory authority. |
12 | The Department of Education shall promulgate regulations |
13 | necessary to implement the provisions of this act. |
14 | Section 6. Effective date. |
15 | This act shall take effect in 60 days. |
