It is an editor's brief statement of the essential features of the measure as introduced. Requires harvesting in areas of Tillamook State Forest and Clatsop State Forest exhibiting moderate to extreme occurrence of Swiss needle cast disease. Requires replanting of harvested areas with trees resistant to Swiss needle cast disease. A BILL FOR AN ACT Relating to Swiss needle cast disease. Be It Enacted by the People of the State of Oregon: SECTION 1. { + The State Board of Forestry shall direct the State Forester to provide for harvesting in those parts of the Tillamook State Forest and the Clatsop State Forest that exhibit moderate to extreme occurrence of Swiss needle cast disease and for replanting those areas with trees that are resistant to Swiss needle cast disease. The State Forester may not reduce management and harvest activities in other parts of the Tillamook State Forest or Clatsop State Forest. The State Forester shall complete harvest and replanting activities under this section as rapidly as practicable, but in no event later than January 2, 2016. + } SECTION 2. { + Section 1 of this 2011 Act is repealed January 2, 2018. + } ----------
