Summary

Allows person issued hardship permit to provide necessary services to person or to member of person's family. Modifies laws related hardship permits issued to persons whose driving privileges are suspended for driving while under influence of intoxicants or failure to comply with implied consent law. Increases penalty for violation driving while suspended. Punishes by maximum of 30 days' imprisonment, $1,250 fine, or both. Renames offense of violation driving while suspended or revoked to driving while suspended or revoked in second degree. Increases penalty for criminal driving while suspended or revoked for certain crimes. Punishes by maximum of 5 years' imprisonment, $125,000 fine, or both. Renames offense of criminal driving while suspended or revoked to driving while suspended or revoked in first degree.
