A RESOLUTION

Honoring Orville Ray Timberlake as the 2011 ODRC Correction Officer of the Year.

       WHEREAS,  The members of the Senate of the 129th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to congratulate Orville Ray Timberlake on being named the 2011 Correction Officer of the Year by the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction; and

       WHEREAS,  A remarkable individual, Orville Timberlake has combined civic concern and dedication with the utmost professionalism to become a dynamic leader in his field, and this prestigious accolade is a fitting tribute to him for his exemplary efforts at the Southern Ohio Correctional Facility, where he was named Correction Officer of the Year. Commencing his tenure in 1987, he has served on several committees and a special detail, and this decorated veteran of the U.S. Army has also been active with his church and the American Red Cross; and

       WHEREAS,  In all of his endeavors, Orville Timberlake has worked tirelessly to better the world around him, and he has earned the respect and esteem of many. Through his admirable devotion to service and achievement, he has distinguished himself as a conscientious and responsible Ohioan, and we applaud him on his tremendous efforts; and

       WHEREAS,  Over the years, Orville Timberlake has willingly given of his time, energy, and abilities far beyond what was required or expected, and he has striven to better the world around him. We are certain that in the years to come, he will continue to display the same unwavering commitment to excellence for which he has become known, and he is truly deserving of high praise; therefore be it

       RESOLVED,  That we, the members of the Senate of the 129th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, commend Orville Ray Timberlake on his recent accolade and salute him as one of Ohio's finest citizens; and be it further

       RESOLVED,  That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to Orville Ray Timberlake.
