A RESOLUTION

Honoring the Oxford Mining Company, LLC, as the recipient of two Excellence in Surface Coal Mining Reclamation Awards.

       WHEREAS,  The members of the Senate of the 129th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to congratulate the Oxford Mining Company, LLC, on receiving two Excellence in Surface Coal Mining Reclamation Awards from the United States Department of the Interior Office of Surface Mining Reclamation and Enforcement; and

       WHEREAS,  Established in 1986, the Excellence in Surface Coal Mining Reclamation Awards honor the nation's most outstanding and environmentally sound land reclamation efforts, and the Oxford Mining Company received the National Award for the high quality of its reclamation practices and the Good Neighbor Award for working with local landowners and communities during reclamation. These esteemed accolades are a fitting tribute to the company, for it has attained a remarkable record of service at its Jockey Hollow West Mine; and

       WHEREAS,  The success of the Oxford Mining Company is a justifiable source of pride and a fine reflection not only on the business itself but also on its astute management and hard-working employees. Due to their vision and initiative, this respected institution has earned the gratitude and appreciation of many, and it is truly deserving of high praise; and

       WHEREAS,  Over the years, the Oxford Mining Company has earned a well-deserved reputation for excellence and has contributed greatly to the area's economic well-being. We are certain that as this worthy enterprise maintains its dedication to service and achievement, it will continue to uphold the tradition of excellence that has become its hallmark; therefore be it

       RESOLVED,  That we, the members of the Senate of the 129th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, applaud the Oxford Mining Company, LLC, on its recent distinctions and extend best wishes for the future; and be it further

       RESOLVED,  That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to the Oxford Mining Company, LLC.
