A BILL
To enact sections 3318.34 and 3318.341 of the Revised 1
Code to require the Ohio School Facilities 2
Commission to develop a procedure for awarding 3
information technology infrastructure grants to 4
public primary and secondary schools and school 5
districts.6


BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF OHIO:

       Section 1.  That sections 3318.34 and 3318.341 of the Revised 7
Code be enacted to read as follows:8

       Sec. 3318.34.  (A) Not later than July 1, 2014, the Ohio 9
school facilities commission shall develop a procedure for 10
awarding information technology infrastructure grants. All public 11
primary and secondary schools and school districts that are 12
eligible to receive assistance under this chapter shall be 13
eligible to apply for these grants.14

       (B) Grants awarded under this section shall be paid from the 15
school technology enhancement fund created under section 3318.341 16
of the Revised Code.17

       Sec. 3318.341.  The school technology enhancement fund is 18
hereby created in the state treasury. The fund shall consist of 19
money appropriated for the purpose of funding information 20
technology infrastructure grants awarded under section 3318.34 of 21
the Revised Code.22
