| WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 130th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to extend special recognition to Dr. Joseph A. Alutto for his outstanding service as interim president of The Ohio State University; and |
| WHEREAS, As an educational administrator, Joseph Alutto has displayed a genuine dedication to attaining his myriad goals in a skillful and professional manner. Joining the staff of The Ohio State University in 1991, he served as dean of the Max M. Fisher College of Business, executive dean for professional colleges, interim president, and executive vice president and provost before commencing a second term as interim president in 2013, and during his leadership, he was appointed to the Ohio Higher Education Funding Commission and OSU was ranked the sixteenth best public university in the nation for 2013 by U.S. News & World Report; and |
| WHEREAS, In all of his endeavors, Joseph Alutto has clearly shown the potential of each person to have a positive effect on the quality of life in our society. A co-author of a book and numerous academic journal articles, he has lectured at universities throughout China, advised the first session of council for the Dalian Behavioral Sciences Association, and served as a consultant to several companies and educational institutions and as a member of various corporate boards and voluntary organizations. Over the years, he has set an example of excellence that is worthy of emulation, and he has gained the appreciation and admiration of many; and |
| WHEREAS, We are proud to note that it is through the unsurpassed efforts and deep commitment of diligent people like Joseph Alutto that the State of Ohio continues to grow and prosper. To his credit, he has striven to advocate for higher education to the best of his ability, and we applaud him on his fine work; therefore be it |
| RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 130th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, commend Dr. Joseph A. Alutto on his exemplary service and extend best wishes for the years to come; and be it further |
