| WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 130th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to extend special recognition to the Sylvania Southview High School Mock Trial team on winning the 2013 Empire World Championship; and |
| WHEREAS, Ohio Mock Trial is an award-winning program of the Ohio Center for Law-Related Education, a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization that encourages responsible participation in the democratic process through educational programs in law and citizenship. The members of the Sylvania Southview High School Mock Trial team have combined talent and competitive spirit with exceptional knowledge, and as a result, they won first place at this year's Empire World Championship; and |
| WHEREAS, Throughout long hours of practice and preparation, the students of the Sylvania Southview High School Mock Trial team have displayed a degree of determination and motivation of which they can be proud. Their accomplishments are an excellent reflection not only on them but also on their families, their school, their coaches, Denny Lyle, Vicki Lyle, Tony Turley, and Dan Ellis, and the community; and |
| WHEREAS, The members of the Sylvania Southview High School Mock Trial team, including Yuran Chen, Claire Coder, Eric Zhu, Shaleen Goel, Katherine Ellis, Sevil Clifford, Catherine Dong, Lilly Yan, Nikila Luke, and Zachary Poczekaj, have displayed a sincere desire to fully develop their talents so that they might fulfill their goals in the future, and this, combined with their maturity and initiative, shows their potential to become some of tomorrow's leaders; therefore be it |
| RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 130th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, commend the Sylvania Southview High School Mock Trial team on its success and salute its members and coaches as fine Ohioans; and be it further |
