A RESOLUTION

In memory of Staff Sergeant Sonny C. Zimmerman.

       WHEREAS,  The members of the House of Representatives of the 130th General Assembly of Ohio offer our deepest sympathy to the family and friends of Staff Sergeant Sonny C. Zimmerman in their bereavement; and

       WHEREAS,  Sonny Zimmerman was a truly unforgettable man whose words and actions endeared him to everyone who knew him. A remarkable person who experienced joy, understood kindness and loyalty, and knew how to communicate his beliefs and share his strengths, he confronted challenges and faced adversity with an admirable spirit, and the legacy of care and commitment he established will surely live on; and 

       WHEREAS,  A graduate of Waynesfield-Goshen High School, Sonny Zimmerman was an eight-year veteran of the United States Army, and during his tenure, he received several honors and awards. Most recently serving in Afghanistan as an infantry squad leader with Company A, 1st Battalion, 506th Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division, he was devoted to our country, and the ultimate sacrifice that he made to defend the ideals of democracy will stand as a monument to his personal character; and

       WHEREAS,  Sonny Zimmerman's selfless dedication to the welfare of others distinguished him as an outstanding human being and a leading citizen. It is our sincere hope that his memory will be a source of comfort to those who loved and cherished him, including his wife, Morgan, and his stepdaughter, Riley; therefore be it

       RESOLVED,  That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 130th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, express a profound sense of loss and genuine regret at the death of Staff Sergeant Sonny C. Zimmerman and pay tribute to this honorable man; and be it further

       RESOLVED,  That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to the family of Staff Sergeant Sonny C. Zimmerman.
