A RESOLUTION | Honoring the Willoughby South High School Academic Decathlon team on winning a 2013 National Championship. |
| WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 130th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to commend the Willoughby South High School Academic Decathlon team as the 2013 National Champion in the medium school division; and |
| WHEREAS, All those associated with the Willoughby South High School Academic Decathlon team are deserving of praise for their ability to excel in many pursuits and to meet challenges with enthusiasm and confidence. Under the leadership of their coach, Bruce Myers, and his assistant, Eileen Krancevic, the members of the squad devoted countless hours to rigorous training in order to be in peak mental condition, and consequently, they secured eight individual medals and the medium school division title at the 2013 National Academic Decathlon Competition; and |
| WHEREAS, Competitive spirit and innovative effort have played major roles in the development of our country. The drive to excel is best developed when youth are presented with trials that permit them to test their skills, knowledge, and strengths against their peers; and |
| WHEREAS, With their vitality, intelligence, and positive outlook, the team members have set an example worthy of emulation. We encourage these young individuals to continue to strive for excellence so that they may assume a meaningful and productive role in our complex society; therefore be it |
| RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 130th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, pay tribute to the Willoughby South High School Academic Decathlon team on its 2013 National Championship and salute the members and coach as some of Ohio's finest citizens; and be it further |
| RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to the Willoughby South High School Academic Decathlon team. |
