HASSELL-THOMPSON -- read twice and ordered printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Rules AN ACT to amend the election law, in relation to the order of candidates appearing on the ballot for special elections to fill a vacancy in New York city THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: 1 Section 1. Section 7-116 of the election law is amended by adding a 2 new subdivision 2-a to read as follows: 3 2-A. FOR SPECIAL ELECTIONS TO FILL A VACANCY IN THE CITY OF NEW YORK, 4 THE ORDER OF THE CANDIDATES NOMINATED BY INDEPENDENT NOMINATING 5 PETITIONS TO APPEAR ON THE BALLOT SHALL BE DRAWN BY LOT. 6 S 2.
