STATE OF NEW YORK ________________________________________________________________________ 7851 IN SENATE May 17, 2016 ___________ Introduced by Sen. GOLDEN -- read twice and ordered printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Aging AN ACT to amend the elder law, in relation to the match requirements for aid granted by the supportive service program for classic and neigh- borhood naturally occurring retirement communities The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem- bly, do enact as follows: 1 Section 1. Paragraph (m) of subdivision 4 of section 209 of the elder 2 law, as amended by section 1 of part S of chapter 59 of the laws of 3 2016, is amended to read as follows: 4 (m) a requirement that any aid provided pursuant to this section be 5 matched by an [equal] amount equal to one quarter of the aid provided, 6 consisting of monetary support, in-kind support [of equal value], or 7 some combination thereof from other sources, provided that such in-kind 8 support be utilized only upon approval from the director and only to the 9 extent matching funds are not available[,] and that at least [twenty-10five] fifty percent of such [amount] required match be contributed by 11 the housing development governing body or other owners or managers and 12 residents of the apartment buildings and housing complexes, or geograph- 13 ically defined area, in which the project is proposed, or, upon approval 14 by the director, sources in neighborhoods contiguous to the boundaries 15 of the geographic areas served where services may also be provided 16 pursuant to subdivision six of this section; 17 § 2. This act shall take effect on the same date and in the same 18 manner as section 1 of part S of chapter 59 of the laws of 2016, takes 19 effect.
