       Introduced  by  Sen.  O'MARA -- read twice and ordered printed, and when
         printed to be committed to the Committee on Elections
       AN ACT in relation to the date of primary elections; and  providing  for
         the repeal of such provisions upon the expiration thereof
         THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
       BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
    1    Section 1.  Notwithstanding the provisions of paragraph (a) of  subdi-
    2  vision 1 of section 8-100 of the election law, the 2012 primary election
    3  shall be held on September 13, 2012.
    4    S  2. This act shall take effect immediately and shall expire December
    5  31, 2012 when upon such date the provisions of this act shall be  deemed
    6  repealed.
