       AN ACT in relation to the conveyance of land formerly used as an  armory
         to the town of Huntington, county of Suffolk
         THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
       BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
    1    Section 1. Subject to the provisions of this act  but  notwithstanding
    2  any  other provision of law to the contrary, the commissioner of general
    3  services is hereby authorized to transfer and  convey  to  the  town  of
    4  Huntington in consideration of one dollar and upon such other conditions
    5  as  the  commissioner  may  deem proper, approximately 3.6 acres of land
    6  formerly used as an armory, and further described in section two of this
    7  act.
    8    S 2. The lands authorized by this act to be transferred  and  conveyed
    9  are as follows:
   10    All  that  certain  plot,  piece  or parcel of land situate, lying and
   11  being at Huntington Station, Town of Huntington, County of  Suffolk  and
   12  State  of  New  York,  known  and  designated  as  Lots 286-296 and Lots
   13  344-354, both inclusive in Block G, Lots 297-310 and Lots 355-368,  both
   14  inclusive  in  Block H, Lots 227-240, both inclusive in Block E, and the
   15  portion of the road bed of East Fourth Street lying east of the easterly
   16  line of Wicks Avenue between Blocks E and H, and the portion of the road
   17  bed of Wicks Avenue lying between  the  northerly  line  of  East  Fifth
   18  Street,  on  the  south, and the southerly line of East Fourth Street on
   19  the north as shown on a certain map entitled Map of "Gardiner Lawns" and
   20  filed in the Office of the Clerk of the County of Suffolk  on  July  16,
   21  1926 as Map Number 812. Said parcel being more particularly described as
   22  follows:
   23  BEGINNING  at a point on the northerly line of East Fifth Street distant
   24  380.00 feet easterly along said line from the intersection of the  east-

    1  erly  line of Lloyd Avenue (not open). Running thence from said point of
    2  BEGINNING the following courses;  North 18 degrees 39 minutes 30 seconds
    3  West, 200.00 feet to the southerly line  of  said  East  Fourth  Street.
    4  Thence  easterly along said line, North 71 degrees 20 minutes 30 seconds
    5  East, 270.00 feet to a point on  the  easterly  line  of  Wicks  Avenue.
    6  Thence northerly along said line, North 18 degrees 39 minutes 30 seconds
    7  West, 153.89 feet to a point on the southerly line of land as shown on a
    8  certain  map entitled "Map of Cobblestone Estates, Section 1".  Said map
    9  being filed in the Office of the Clerk  of  the  County  of  Suffolk  on
   10  November 22, 2000 as Map Number 10539.
   11  RUNNING  thence  easterly  and southerly along said land the following 2
   12  courses; 1) North 69 degrees 10 minutes 50 seconds  East,  280.96  feet;
   13  thence,  2)  South 20 degrees 13 minutes 10 seconds East, 364.62 feet to
   14  the northerly line of said East Fifth Street. Thence westerly along said
   15  line, South 71 degrees 20 minutes 30 seconds West, 560.69  feet  to  the
   16  point or place of BEGINNING.
   17  Said parcel having an area of 3.596 acres more or less.
   18    S 3. The commissioner of general services shall not transfer or convey
   19  the  aforesaid land unless application is made by the town of Huntington
   20  within one year after the effective date of this act.
   21    S 4. Any lands transferred pursuant to this act shall be used for  the
   22  purposes  of  the  town  of  Huntington to utilize the subject property,
   23  structures and improvements thereto by several departments of  the  town
   24  including  parks  and  recreation, engineering, general services, public
   25  safety, human and youth service in connection with recreational,  commu-
   26  nity and civic programs appropriate to the location and structures, upon
   27  termination of which use or uses title to the lands so transferred shall
   28  revert to the state of New York.
   29    S 5. This act shall take effect immediately.
