        Introduced  by  Sen. PERALTA -- read twice and ordered printed, and when
          printed to be committed to the Committee on Health
        AN ACT to amend the public health law,  in  relation  to  requiring  the
          department  of  health  to  provide information on neonatal abstinence
          syndrome screening, intervention, and counseling for pregnant women on
          a department website devoted to advancing women's health initiatives
          The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and  Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:
     1    Section  1.  Paragraphs (u) and (v) of subdivision 1 of section 266 of
     2  the public health law, as added by chapter 342 of the laws of 2014,  are
     3  amended and a new paragraph (w) is added to read as follows:
     4    (u)  Syphilis  screening  for  all  pregnant  women  or other women at
     5  increased risk; [and]
     6    (v) Well-woman visits to obtain  recommended  preventive  services[.];
     7  and
     8    (w)  Neonatal  abstinence  syndrome screening, interventions and coun-
     9  seling for pregnant women.
    10    § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
