        Introduced  by Sen. CARLUCCI -- read twice and ordered printed, and when
          printed to be committed to the Committee on Education
        AN ACT in relation to  authorizing  the  commissioner  of  education  to
          change  the  name of the Ramapo central school district to the Suffern
          central school district
          The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and  Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:
     1    Section  1.  Notwithstanding any other provision of law, rule or regu-
     2  lation to the contrary, the commissioner of education is hereby  author-
     3  ized,  empowered  and directed to change the official name of the Ramapo
     4  central school district to the  Suffern  central  school  district.  The
     5  education  department  shall  issue a certificate certifying the name of
     6  the district and the name of the towns and counties in which the  terri-
     7  tory of the district is located.
     8    §  2.  This  act shall take effect on the thirtieth day after it shall
     9  have become a law.
