          printed to be committed to the Committee on Transportation

        AN ACT to amend chapter 108 of the laws of 2016,  amending  the  vehicle
          and  traffic  law  relating to authorizing a pilot residential parking
          permit system in the city of Buffalo, in relation to the effectiveness
          thereof

          The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and  Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:

     1    Section  1. Section 3 of chapter 108 of the laws of 2016, amending the
     2  vehicle and traffic law relating  to  authorizing  a  pilot  residential
     3  parking  permit system in the city of Buffalo, as amended by chapter 157
     4  of the laws of 2018, is amended to read as follows:
     5    § 3. This act shall take effect immediately and shall [remain in  full
     6  force  and effect for a period of five years after the implementation of
     7  the local law or ordinance adopted by the city of  Buffalo  pursuant  to
     8  section 1640-p of the vehicle and traffic law as added by section two of
     9  this  act  at  which time this act shall] expire [and] December 31, 2026
    10  when upon such date the provisions of this act shall be deemed repealed.
    11  [The city of Buffalo shall notify the legislative bill drafting  commis-
    12  sion  upon  the  occurrence  of such implementation or adoption in order
    13  that the commission may maintain an accurate and timely  effective  data
    14  base of the official text of the laws of the state of New York in furth-
    15  erance  of  effectuating the provisions of section 44 of the legislative
    16  law and section 70-b of the public officers law.]
    17    § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
