STATE OF NEW YORK ________________________________________________________________________ 6358 2017-2018 Regular Sessions IN SENATE May 11, 2017 ___________ Introduced by Sen. HANNON -- read twice and ordered printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Health AN ACT to amend the public health law, in relation to collaborative agreements to purchase, acquire, possess and operate automated external defibrillators; and to repeal subdivision 2 of section 3000-b of such law, relating thereto The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem- bly, do enact as follows: 1 Section 1. Paragraph (ii) of subdivision 2 of section 3000-a of the 2 public health law, as amended by chapter 373 of the laws of 2016, is 3 amended to read as follows: 4 (ii) an emergency health care provider under a collaborative agreement 5 pursuant to the former subdivision two of section three thousand-b of 6 this article with respect to an automated external defibrillator, or 7 § 2. Paragraph (c) of subdivision 1 of section 3000-b of the public 8 health law, as added by chapter 552 of the laws of 1998, is amended to 9 read as follows: 10 (c) "Public access defibrillation provider" means a person, firm, 11 organization or other entity possessing or operating an automated 12 external defibrillator [pursuant to a collaborative agreement under this13section]. 14 § 3. Subdivision 2 of section 3000-b of the public health law is 15 REPEALED. 16 § 4. This act shall take effect immediately.
