       AN  ACT  in  relation  to  authorizing the village of North Hills in the
         county of Nassau to establish a second acting village justice
         THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND  ASSEM-
       BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
    1    Section  1.  Notwithstanding  paragraph  a of subdivision 2 of section
    2  3-301 of the village law, the village of North Hills, in the  county  of
    3  Nassau, is hereby authorized to adopt a local law or resolution, subject
    4  to  permissive referendum, to establish a second acting village justice,
    5  who shall be appointed and whose duties shall be determined pursuant  to
    6  paragraph a of subdivision 2 of section 3-301 of the village law.
    7    S 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
