        Introduced  by  Sen.  MYRIE  -- read twice and ordered printed, and when
          printed to be committed to the Committee on Elections  --  recommitted
          to the Committee on Elections in accordance with Senate Rule 6, sec. 8
          --  committee  discharged,  bill amended, ordered reprinted as amended
          and recommitted to said committee

        AN ACT to amend the election law, in relation to notifying candidates of
          designation for certain county committees

          The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and  Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:

     1    Section  1.  Section  6-134 of the election law is amended by adding a
     2  new subdivision 14 to read as follows:
     3    14.  Notwithstanding any provision of law to the contrary, within  ten
     4  days  of receipt of a designating petition pursuant to this section, the
     5  board of elections of the city of New York shall provide notice to  each
     6  candidate  designated  in such petition for election to a party position
     7  of a county committee located within the city of New York informing such
     8  candidate of such designation and the process for declining or accepting
     9  such designation in accordance with the provisions of section  6-146  of
    10  this article.
    11    § 2. This act shall take effect on the one hundred eightieth day after
    12  it shall have become law.
