        Introduced  by  Sen.  BOYLE  -- read twice and ordered printed, and when
          printed to be committed to the Committee on Elections

        AN ACT to amend the election law, in relation to the definition  of  the
          term party

          The  People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:

     1    Section 1. Section 1-104 of the election law is amended  by  adding  a
     2  new subdivision 3-a to read as follows:
     3    3-a.  For elections conducted on and after January first, two thousand
     4  twenty-two, the term "party" means any political organization  which  at
     5  the  last preceding election for governor polled at least fifty thousand
     6  votes for its candidate for governor.
     7    § 2.  This act shall take effect immediately.
