        Introduced  by Sen. GAUGHRAN -- read twice and ordered printed, and when
          printed to be committed to the Committee on Investigations and Govern-
          ment Operations

        AN ACT in relation to suspending all unnecessary travel to the state  of
          Georgia  so long as Act 9 of 2021, SB 202, as signed into law on March
          25, 2021 in the state of Georgia is in effect; and providing  for  the
          repeal of such provisions upon expiration thereof

          The  People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:

     1    Section 1. 1. Notwithstanding any  law,  rule  or  regulation  to  the
     2  contrary,  all agencies, departments, boards, divisions, authorities and
     3  commissions shall review all requests for  state-funded  or  state-spon-
     4  sored  travel  to the state of Georgia so long as Act 9 of 2021, SB 202,
     5  as signed into law on March 25, 2021 in the  state  of  Georgia,  is  in
     6  effect.
     7    2.  Any  such  publicly  funded  or  publicly sponsored travel to such
     8  location, unless such travel is necessary for  the  enforcement  of  New
     9  York  state  law,  to  meet  prior  contractual  obligations, or for the
    10  protection of public health, welfare, and safety, or is otherwise in the
    11  interest of the state, is suspended.
    12    § 2. This act shall take effect immediately and shall  expire  and  be
    13  deemed  repealed  upon  the  repeal  of Act 9 of 2021, SB 202, which was
    14  signed into law on March 25, 2021 in the  state  of  Georgia;  provided,
    15  however,  that  the secretary of  state  shall  notify  the  legislative
    16  bill  drafting commission upon the occurrence of the enactment into  law
    17  by  the  state  of  Georgia  repealing  Act  9 of 2021 in order that the
    18  commission may maintain an accurate and timely  effective data  base  of
    19  the official text of the laws of the state of New York in furtherance of
    20  effectuating the provisions of section 44 of  the  legislative  law  and
    21  section 70-b of the public officers law.
