SAVINO, LANZA -- read twice and ordered printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Rules -- recommitted to the Committee on Local Government in accordance with Senate Rule 6, sec. 8 -- committee discharged and said bill committed to the Commit- tee on Rules -- reported favorably from said committee, ordered to a third reading, passed by Senate and delivered to the Assembly, recalled, vote reconsidered, restored to third reading, amended and ordered reprinted, retaining its place in the order of third reading AN ACT authorizing the commissioner of finance of the city of New York to accept from Our Lady of Mount Carmel Society of Rosebank an appli- cation for real property tax exemption THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: 1 Section 1. Notwithstanding any other provision of law to the contrary, 2 the commissioner of the department of finance of the city of New York is 3 hereby authorized to accept from Our Lady of Mount Carmel Society of 4 Rosebank, an application for exemption from real property taxes pursuant 5 to section 420-a or 420-b of the real property tax law for the 2007, 6 2008, 2009 and 2010 assessment rolls, for the parcels located at 36 7 Amity Street, Rosebank in the borough of Staten Island, county of Rich- 8 mond. If accepted, the application shall be reviewed as if it had been 9 received on or before the taxable status dates established for such 10 assessment rolls. 11 If satisfied that such organization would otherwise be entitled to 12 such exemption, the commissioner of the New York city department of 13 finance may grant exemption from all taxation with respect to the 14 subject tax rolls due and owing by such organization and cancel taxes, 15 fines, penalties and interest remaining unpaid, refund any taxes that 16 have been paid, and make appropriate correction of the subject assess- 17 ment rolls. 18 S 2.
