       Introduced  by  Sen.  FOLEY  -- read twice and ordered printed, and when
         printed to be committed to the Committee on Labor
       AN ACT to amend the labor law, in relation to exempting  volunteer  fire
         districts from requiring safety ropes and system components for use by
         firefighters and from the training in the use of such ropes
         THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
       BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
    1    Section 1. Subdivision 4 of section 27-a of the labor law  is  amended
    2  by adding a new paragraph e to read as follows:
    3    E.  VOLUNTEER  FIRE  DISTRICTS  SHALL BE EXEMPT FROM THE PROVISIONS OF
    4  PARAGRAPH C OF THIS SUBDIVISION.
    5    S 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
