          printed to be committed to the Committee on Health

        AN ACT to amend the public health law, in relation to  premium  payments
          for the child health insurance plan

          The  People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:

     1    Section 1. Subparagraph (i) of paragraph e of subdivision 9 of section
     2  2510 of the public health law, as added by section  2  of  part  DDD  of
     3  chapter 56 of the laws of 2022, is amended to read as follows:
     4    (i) no payments are required for eligible children whose family house-
     5  hold  income  is  less than two hundred twenty-three percent of the non-
     6  farm federal poverty level and for eligible children  who  are  American
     7  Indians  or  Alaskan Natives, as defined by the United States department
     8  of health and human services, whose family household income is less than
     9  two hundred fifty-one percent of the non-farm federal poverty level  and
    10  notwithstanding  any inconsistent provisions in this article, for eligi-
    11  ble children who are less than four years old without regard  to  family
    12  household income; and
    13    §  2.  This  act shall take effect immediately and shall only apply to
    14  policies modified, entered into or renewed after such date.
