        AN  ACT  to  amend  the  public  health  law,  in  relation  to maternal
          depression treatment
          The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and  Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:
     1    Section 1. Subdivision 3 of section 2500-k of the public health law is
     2  renumbered  subdivision  4  and  a new subdivision 3 is added to read as
     3  follows:
     4    3. Maternal depression treatment. The commissioner,  in  collaboration
     5  with the commissioner of mental health, shall:
     6    (a)  compile  a  list  of  providers  who treat or provide support for
     7  maternal  depression  including  mental  health   professionals,   other
     8  licensed  professionals,  peer  support, not-for-profit corporations and
     9  other community resources. Such list shall  be  made  available  to  the
    10  public on the department's website and be searchable by zip code;
    11    (b) update the list of providers as necessary; and
    12    (c)  within  existing  appropriations,  ensure  adequate investment in
    13  treatment  resources  for  maternal  depression  including  a  statewide
    14  hotline,  peer  support,  adequate  referral  networks and telehealth or
    15  telemedicine services.
    16    § 2. This act shall take effect on the first of January next  succeed-
    17  ing  the  date  on  which it shall have become a law; provided, however,
    18  that effective immediately, the addition, amendment and/or repeal of any
    19  rule or regulation necessary for the implementation of this act  on  its
    20  effective date is authorized to be made and completed by the commission-
    21  er of health on or before such effective date.
