       Introduced  by  Sen.  RANZENHOFER -- read twice and ordered printed, and
         when printed to be committed to the Committee  on  Veterans,  Homeland
         Security and Military Affairs
       AN  ACT  to amend the real property tax law, in relation to providing an
         enhanced exemption for veterans regardless of income
         THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND  ASSEM-
       BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
    1    Section  1.  Paragraph (b) of subdivision 4 of section 425 of the real
    2  property tax law is amended by adding a new subparagraph (vii)  to  read
    3  as follows:
    4    (VII)  NOTWITHSTANDING  ANY  OTHER  PROVISION  OF  THIS PARAGRAPH, ANY
    5  VETERAN, AS DEFINED IN PARAGRAPH (E) OF SUBDIVISION ONE OF SECTION  FOUR
    6  HUNDRED  FIFTY-EIGHT-A  OF  THIS  TITLE,  SHALL QUALIFY FOR THE ENHANCED
    7  EXEMPTION PROVIDED BY THIS SECTION.
    8    S 2. This act shall take effect on the first of January next  succeed-
    9  ing the date on which it shall have become a law.
