STATE OF NEW YORK ________________________________________________________________________ 3597 2017-2018 Regular Sessions IN SENATE January 25, 2017 ___________ Introduced by Sen. PARKER -- read twice and ordered printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Health AN ACT to amend the public health law, in relation to labeling and font size of prescription drugs The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem- bly, do enact as follows: 1 Section 1. Section 206 of the public health law is amended by adding a 2 new subdivision 31 to read as follows: 3 31. The commissioner shall promulgate by rule and regulation criteria 4 directing pharmacies to provide prescription bottle labels in a font 5 size of at least fourteen point print. 6 § 2. This act shall take effect on the one hundred twentieth day after 7 it shall have become a law. Provided, however, that effective immediate- 8 ly, the addition, amendment and/or repeal of any rule or regulation 9 necessary for the implementation of this act on its effective date are 10 authorized and directed to be made and completed on or before such 11 effective date.
