STATE OF NEW YORK ________________________________________________________________________ 3447 2021-2022 Regular Sessions IN SENATE January 29, 2021 ___________ Introduced by Sen. ADDABBO -- read twice and ordered printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Elections AN ACT to amend the election law, in relation to requiring candidates for certain elected offices to post certain information regarding contributions on such candidate's campaign website The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem- bly, do enact as follows: 1 Section 1. The election law is amended by adding a new section 14-121 2 to read as follows: 3 § 14-121. Contributions to be posted on campaign websites. 1. Any 4 candidate for elected office for the office of the governor, the comp- 5 troller, the attorney general or any legislative district of the senate 6 or assembly shall: 7 a. post on the homepage of his or her campaign website a direct link 8 to the board of elections website to such candidate's campaign contrib- 9 utions. 10 b. post on the homepage of his or her campaign website all contrib- 11 utions over two hundred fifty dollars within thirty days of receipt; 12 including the exact amount of each contribution and the identity of the 13 donor. 14 2. Such candidate shall be responsible for ensuring that the informa- 15 tion as required in paragraphs a and b of subdivision one of this 16 section is posted. 17 3. Any person who shall knowingly and willfully violate any provision 18 of this section shall be guilty of a class A misdemeanor. 19 § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
