          RANZENHOFER, RITCHIE, YOUNG -- read twice  and  ordered  printed,  and
          when  printed to be committed to the Committee on Crime Victims, Crime
          and Correction
        AN ACT to amend the correction law, in relation to reporting sex  offen-
          der changes of address to the division of criminal justice services
          The  People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:
     1    Section 1. Subdivision 4 of section 168-f of the  correction  law,  as
     2  amended  by  chapter  67  of  the  laws  of  2008, is amended to read as
     3  follows:
     4    4. Any sex offender shall register with the division no later than ten
     5  calendar days after any change of address, internet accounts with inter-
     6  net access providers belonging to such  offender,  internet  identifiers
     7  that such offender uses, or his or her status of enrollment, attendance,
     8  employment  or  residence at any institution of higher education. If any
     9  sex offender submits a change of address to a law enforcement agency, or
    10  if a law enforcement agency facilitates the change of address  for  such
    11  sex  offender,  the  law  enforcement agency shall, within five business
    12  days, forward the change of  address  form  to  the  division.  The  law
    13  enforcement  agency  shall  provide  a copy of the completed form to the
    14  offender and retain a copy for its records. A fee  of  ten  dollars,  as
    15  authorized  by subdivision eight of section one hundred sixty-eight-b of
    16  this article, shall be submitted by the  sex  offender  each  time  such
    17  offender  registers  any  change  of address or any change of his or her
    18  status of enrollment, attendance, employment or residence at any  insti-
    19  tution  of  higher  education.  Any  failure  or  omission to submit the
    20  required fee shall not affect the acceptance  by  the  division  of  the
    21  change of address or change of status.
    22    § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
