         printed to be committed to the Committee on Education
       AN ACT to amend the education law, in relation  to  providing  that  the
         first  two days of Passover and Good Friday be designated school holi-
         days
         THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND  ASSEM-
       BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
    1    Section  1.  Section  2554 of the education law is amended by adding a
    2  new subdivision 28 to read as follows:
    3    28. TO PROVIDE THAT, IN THE CITY OF NEW  YORK,  SPECIAL  PROVISION  BE
    4  MADE  FOR  THE  OBSERVANCE  OF  THE  FIRST TWO DAYS OF PASSOVER AND GOOD
    5  FRIDAY SUCH THAT THESE DAYS BE DESIGNATED AS SCHOOL HOLIDAYS.
    6    S 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
