        Introduced by Sens. LITTLE, SEPULVEDA -- read twice and ordered printed,
          and  when  printed  to  be  committed to the Committee on Judiciary --
          recommitted to the Committee on Judiciary in  accordance  with  Senate
          Rule  6,  sec.  8  --  committee  discharged,  bill  amended,  ordered
          reprinted as amended and recommitted to said committee

        AN ACT to amend the family court act,  in  relation  to  establishing  a
          separate office of judge of the family court for the county of Essex

          The  People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:

     1    Section 1. Section 131 of the family court act is amended by adding  a
     2  new subdivision (w) to read as follows:
     3    (w)  There shall be a separate office of judge of the family court for
     4  the county of Essex and  the  compensation  payable  for  such  separate
     5  office  of  judge  of  the family court shall be the same as the compen-
     6  sation payable to the judge of the county court of the county of Essex.
     7    § 2. This act shall take effect immediately  except  that  the  family
     8  court judge for the county of Essex provided for in this act shall first
     9  be elected at the general election to be held in November 2020 and shall
    10  first take office January 1, 2021.
