       Introduced  by  Sens.  RITCHIE, GOLDEN, LARKIN, O'MARA -- read twice and
         ordered printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee  on
         Finance
       AN  ACT to amend the executive law, in relation to the powers and duties
         of notaries public
         THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND  ASSEM-
       BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
    1    Section  1. The executive law is amended by adding a new section 136-a
    2  to read as follows:
    3    S 136-A. NOTARIAL FEES IN A  STATE  CORRECTIONAL  FACILITY.  A  NOTARY
    4  PUBLIC  SHALL  CHARGE  A  FEE  OF  TWO DOLLARS FOR PERFORMING ANY OF THE
    5  SERVICES SET FORTH IN SECTION ONE HUNDRED THIRTY-SIX OF THIS ARTICLE FOR
    6  AN INMATE IN A STATE CORRECTIONAL FACILITY.
    7    S 2. This act shall take effect on the first of January next  succeed-
    8  ing the date on which it shall have become a law.
