LIBOUS -- read twice and ordered printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Civil Service and Pensions AN ACT to grant Cole Samsel eligibility for permanent appointment as a police officer with the police department of the village of Oxford, in the county of Chenango THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: 1 Section 1. Notwithstanding any provision of paragraph (a) of subdivi- 2 sion 1 or subdivision 4 of section 58 of the civil service law to the 3 contrary, Cole Samsel, who previously received a permanent appointment 4 in the competitive class of civil service as a police officer with the 5 sheriff's department of the county of Chenango, resigned from such posi- 6 tion after several years, has been absent from such position for more 7 than 30 days and is over the age of 35, shall be eligible for provi- 8 sional or permanent appointment in the competitive class of the civil 9 service as a police officer of the police department of the village of 10 Oxford, in the county of Chenango, if he shall, at the time of his 11 appointment, be 40 years of age or younger. 12 S 2.
