The opening paragraph of subdivision 1 of section 1034 of 2 the family court act, as amended by chapter 329 of the laws of 2009, is 3 amended to read as follows: 4 A family court judge may order the child protective service of the 5 appropriate social services district to conduct a child protective 6 investigation as described by the social services law and report, WITHIN 7 FOURTEEN DAYS OF SUCH ORDER OR REQUEST, UNLESS JUST CAUSE CAN BE SHOWN 8 TO EXTEND THE TIME TO TWENTY-ONE DAYS, its findings to the court: 9 S 2.
