Assembly Resolution No. 982 BY: M. of A. Gunther HONORING Michael E. Gaydos upon the occasion of his retirement after 40 years of distinguished service to Ironworkers Local Union 417 WHEREAS, This Legislative Body seeks to acknowledge those individuals whose professional lives and civic endeavors serve to enhance the stature of the State of New York; and WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Michael E. Gaydos upon the occasion of his retirement after 40 years of distinguished service to Ironworkers Local Union 417 to be celebrated at a farewell reception at the Falkirk Estate and Country Club in Central Valley, New York, on Saturday, August 20, 2022; and WHEREAS, In his capacity as Business Manager/Financial Secretary and Treasurer, Michael E. Gaydos served with loyalty, honor and distinction; and WHEREAS, A graduate of Newburgh Free Academy, Michael E. Gaydos went on to receive an Associate degree in Architecture from Orange County Community College; and WHEREAS, He and his beloved wife, Maggie, are residents of Newburgh, New York, and are proud parents of their son, Michael Philip; and WHEREAS, Fond of the outdoors, Michael E. Gaydos achieved the rank of Eagle Scout when he was active in the Boy Scouts of America, and continues to enjoy sports, hunting, and fishing; and WHEREAS, Michael E. Gaydos joined Ironworkers Local Union 417 as an Architectural Engineer in 1982, and held a variety of positions including Ironworker, Business Agent - President/JAC Coordinate, Business Manager/Financial Secretary and Treasurer; and WHEREAS, In his official acts, Michael E. Gaydos was governed by a keen sense of duty and always showed a unique grasp of human problems; and WHEREAS, During his tenure with Ironworkers Local Union 417, Michael E. Gaydos earned the admiration, esteem, and affection of his colleagues; and WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individuals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our attention, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to honor Michael E. Gaydos upon the occasion of his retirement, and to wish him continued success in all his future endeavors; and be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be transmitted to Michael E. Gaydos.
