Assembly Resolution No. 880

        LEGISLATIVE   RESOLUTION honoring Patti Dushane upon
        the occasion of being named the Remarkable Woman  of
        the  Capital Region by Bellevue Woman's Center Ellis
        Medicine on March 6, 2020

  WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to recognize that
the quality and character of life in the  communities  across  New  York
State  are  reflective  of  the concerned and dedicated efforts of those
individuals who would devote themselves to the welfare of the  community
and its citizenry; and

  WHEREAS,  Attendant  to  such  concern,  and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Patti Dushane upon the occasion of being named the Remarkable  Woman  of
the Capital Region by Bellevue Woman's Center Ellis Medicine; and

  WHEREAS,  For  the  past  month,  NEWS10 has been sharing stories of
remarkable women in the community who  were  nominated  by  viewers  for
their commitment to helping others in the Capital Region; and

  WHEREAS,  On  Friday,  March  6,  2020,  Patti Dushane was named the
Remarkable Woman  of  the  Capital  Region  for  her  faithful  concern,
selfless  devotion,  and  steadfast  and unremitting commitment to those
less fortunate than her; and

  WHEREAS, While working in  the  Catskill  Central  School  District,
Patti Dushane was saddened by the thought of local children going hungry
when  they  were  not  in school; in 2008, she opened Matthew 25, a food
pantry, thrift shop, and resource  center  where  all  the  clients  are
treated with dignity and respect; and

  WHEREAS, In the future, Patti Dushane hopes to expand her ministries
by  adding  a  warm and safe shelter for the many homeless people in the
area; and

  WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of her  community  service,  a
period  of constructive involvement, Patti Dushane has stood constant in
dignity, good grace and humor; and

  WHEREAS, Rare indeed  is  the  impressive  dedication  shown  by  an
individual  for  the benefit of others which Patti Dushane has displayed
throughout her life; and

  WHEREAS, It  is  the  sense  of  this  Legislative  Body  that  when
individuals  of  such  noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our
attention, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the  citizens
of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it

  RESOLVED,  That  this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Patti Dushane upon the occasion  of  being  named  the  Remarkable
Woman of the Capital Region by Bellevue Woman's Center Ellis Medicine on
March 6, 2020; and be it further

  RESOLVED,  That  a  copy  of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Patti Dushane.
