Assembly Resolution No. 407 BY: M. of A. Woerner HONORING Chief James Schrammel upon the occasion of his retirement after 32 years of distinguished service to the Glens Falls Fire Department WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to acknowledge those individuals whose professional lives and civic endeavors serve to enhance the stature of the State of New York; and WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Chief James Schrammel upon the occasion of his retirement after 32 years of distinguished service to the Glens Falls Fire Department on Saturday, May 6, 2023; and WHEREAS, For the past 32 years, Chief James Schrammel rendered faithful, conscientious, and valuable service to the Glens Falls Fire Department; and WHEREAS, Chief James Schrammel's notice of retirement was announced on Tuesday, April 25, 2023, at the Common Council meeting where he was reporting on the state of the fire department; the announcement came exactly 13 years from the day he was named Chief; and WHEREAS, In his official acts, Chief James Schrammel was governed by a keen sense of duty and always showed a unique grasp of human problems; and WHEREAS, Chief James Schrammel has been an integral part of the successes experienced by the Glens Falls Fire Department thus far; he has been greatly involved in recruitment efforts and training of new firefighters to become the best they can be in relation to serving the Department; and WHEREAS, In his capacity as Fire Chief, James Schrammel served with loyalty, honor and distinction; and WHEREAS, During his tenure with the Glens Falls Fire Department, Chief James Schrammel earned the admiration, esteem, and affection of his colleagues; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to honor Chief James Schrammel upon the occasion of his retirement after 32 years of distinguished service; and be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be transmitted to Chief James Schrammel.
