        HONORING  Angela Gilmore-Manning upon the occasion
        of her designation for special  recognition  by  the
        National  Action  Network,  West  Nassau Chapter, on
        March 24, 2019

  WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative  Body  that  those  who
enhance the quality of life in their community and have shown a long and
sustained  commitment  to  the  maintenance  of  high standards in their
profession, certainly have earned the recognition and  applause  of  all
the citizens of this great Empire State; and

  WHEREAS,  Attendant  to  such  concern,  and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Angela G. Manning upon the  occasion  of  her  designation  for  special
recognition  by  the National Action Network, West Nassau Chapter, to be
celebrated at its Prestigious Women's Gala on Sunday, March 24, 2019, at
Floral Terrace, Floral Park, New York; and

  WHEREAS, Angela Marie Gilmore was born  in  Queens,  New  York,  the
eldest  daughter of the late Elsie S. Gilmore and the late Bishop Roy L.
Gilmore, Sr.; and

  WHEREAS, From a young age,  Angela  Gilmore-Manning  was  an  active
leader  within  her  community,  serving  on  the  children's choir, and
teaching Sunday school as well as Vacation Bible School at the St.  Luke
Baptist Church of Laurelton, New York; and

  WHEREAS,  Angela Gilmore-Manning earned a degree in community health
relations at York College; during this time, she gave tirelessly of  her
time  and  energies to various health initiatives and clinics within the
Queens community; and

  WHEREAS, Having grown  up  around  her  family's  business,  Roy  L.
Gilmore's  Funeral Home, Inc., Angela Gilmore-Manning went on to receive
a degree in Mortuary  Science  from  the  prestigious  American  Academy
McAllister Institute; and

  WHEREAS,  Today,  Angela  Gilmore-Manning  continues  to  serve  the
community faithfully as President of  Roy  L.  Gilmore's  Funeral  Home,
Inc.;  family owned and operated for more than 70 years, the business is
currently located on Linden Boulevard in St. Albans, New York; and

  WHEREAS, In this capacity, Angela Gilmore-Manning has dedicated  her
life  to serving families with the highest level of compassion, dignity,
respect and understanding; and

  WHEREAS, With her throughout have been  her  husband  of  38  years,
David,  and their three daughters, Nicole, Naomi and Grace, who have all
shown her love and support and rejoice in her many achievements; and

  WHEREAS, Rare indeed  is  the  impressive  dedication  shown  by  an
individual  for  the  benefit of others which Angela Gilmore-Manning has
displayed throughout her life; and


  WHEREAS,  It  is  the  custom  of  this  Legislative  Body that when
individuals of such noble aims and accomplishments are  brought  to  our
attention,  they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens
of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it

  RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its  deliberations  to
honor  Angela  Gilmore-Manning  upon the occasion of her designation for
special recognition by the National Action Network, West Nassau Chapter,
on March 24, 2019; and be it further

  RESOLVED, That a copy of this  Resolution,  suitably  engrossed,  be
transmitted to Angela Gilmore-Manning.
