        MOURNING  the  death  of  Mark  Joseph  Schroeder,
        family man, distinguished citizen and devoted member
        of his community

  WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to pay tribute to
citizens of the State of New York whose lifework served to  enhance  the
quality  of  life  in their communities and the great State of New York;
and

  WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is moved to mourn the death  of  Mark
Joseph  Schroeder,  who passed away on Wednesday, April 22, 2020, at the
age of 54; and

  WHEREAS, Born on July 30,1965, Mark  Joseph  Schroeder  grew  up  in
Orchard  Park,  New  York,  where he graduated from high school in 1983;
during this time, he excelled in numerous sports, especially competitive
hockey; and

  WHEREAS, Mark Joseph Schroeder earned his degree from SUNY  Geneseo,
and  later, pursued a long and distinguished career in technology sales,
where he was beloved by colleagues and customers alike; and

  WHEREAS,  Beyond  his  professional  accomplishments,  Mark   Joseph
Schroeder's  core sense of self was as a loving and supportive father to
his children, prioritizing their well-being above all  else;  his  loved
ones  recall  that  he  could,  without fail, recite every line from The
Princess Bride with his cherished children; and

  WHEREAS, Mark Joseph Schroeder was truly a man of many interests and
passions; he was known for his eclectic taste in  music,  spanning  many
genres  from Pink Floyd and Iron Butterfly to Grand Master Flash and the
Furious Five, and he was known to scour Western New  York  record  shops
for  bootleg  recordings,  carefully  storing  each  album  in  its  own
protective covering; and

  WHEREAS, A devoted fan of science  fiction,  Mark  Joseph  Schroeder
enjoyed  watching classic films like Star Wars and Blade Runner, to more
modern tales like Marvel Cinematic Universe, and television  shows  such
as "Game of Thrones" and "Dr. Who"; and

  WHEREAS,  Mark  Joseph Schroeder was also a well-known animal lover,
generously opening his heart to all living creatures; and

  WHEREAS, Mark Joseph Schroeder is survived by his life partner,  Amy
Abbey;  two daughters, Margaret and Claire; one son, Jeremy; one sister,
Mary Margaret; one sister-in-law, Deena;  one  niece,  Isabel;  and  one
nephew, Harry, as well as numerous friends; and

  WHEREAS,   A   devoted  father,  Mark  Joseph  Schroeder's  name  is
synonymous  with  character,  dignity,  intellect,  depth,  and   humor,
qualities  evident  to his family and to all those who were fortunate to
have known him; he will be deeply missed and truly merits  the  grateful
tribute of this Legislative Body; now, therefore, be it


  RESOLVED,  That  this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
mourn the death of Mark  Joseph  Schroeder,  family  man,  distinguished
citizen and devoted member of his community; and be it further

  RESOLVED,  That  a  copy  of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to the family of Mark Joseph Schroeder.
