        HONORING  Hazel D. Worley upon the occasion of her
        designation  as  a  Neighborhood   Leader   by   the
        Neighborhood  Technical Assistance Clinic on June 9,
        2020

  WHEREAS, Individuals who give of their time and energies  and  serve
the best interests of their communities are an asset beyond remuneration
and cannot be sufficiently extolled; and

  WHEREAS, Hazel D. Worley has given not only of her time and energies
but also of her competence, intelligence and leadership and consequently
has been designated for special honor; and

  WHEREAS,  This  Legislative  Body  is justly proud to honor Hazel D.
Worley upon the occasion of her designation as a Neighborhood Leader  by
the  Neighborhood  Technical  Assistance  Clinic to be celebrated at its
13th Annual Gala, A  Salute  to  New  York  City's  Nonprofits  and  the
Neighborhoods  They  Serve,  on  Tuesday, June 9, 2020, at Giando on the
Water, Brooklyn, New York; and

  WHEREAS, The Neighborhood Technical Assistance Clinic  (NTAC)  is  a
strategic   partner   and   advisor   to  philanthropists,  foundations,
government  and  political  entities,  public  institutions,  grassroots
nonprofit organizations, and faith-based institutions wishing to improve
their  programs and organizational effectiveness in addressing the needs
of low-income and service-starved communities; and

  WHEREAS,  With  a  steadfast  and  unwavering  commitment   to   her
community,  Hazel D. Worley is an active member of Berean Baptist Church
where she serves as a Trustee; she is also a supporter of Black Veterans
for Social Justice and Paralyzed Veterans; and

  WHEREAS, Truly dedicated to union movements, Hazel D.  Worley  is  a
member of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People
(NAACP),  the Coalition of Labor Union Women (CLUW) and the Coalition of
Black Trade Unionists (CBTU); and

  WHEREAS, In 2016, Hazel D. Worley was appointed as a member  of  the
Public  Safety  Committee  of  Brooklyn  Community Board No. 5 where she
currently serves as Chair of the Aging Committee; and

  WHEREAS, Rare indeed  is  the  impressive  dedication  shown  by  an
individual for the benefit of others which Hazel D. Worley has displayed
throughout her life; and

  WHEREAS,  It  is  the  sense  of  this  Legislative  Body  that when
individuals of such noble aims and accomplishments are  brought  to  our
attention,  they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens
of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it

  RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its  deliberations  to
honor  Hazel  D.  Worley  upon  the  occasion  of  her  designation as a

Neighborhood Leader by the Neighborhood Technical Assistance Clinic; and
be it further

  RESOLVED,  That  a  copy  of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Hazel D. Worley.
