Senate Resolution No. 2975

        MOURNING  the  death of Norma Abbey, wife, mother,
        grandmother, and distinguished citizen

  WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to pay tribute to
citizens of the State of New York whose lifework served to  enhance  the
quality  of  life  in their communities and the great State of New York;
and

  WHEREAS, It is with feelings of deepest regret that this Legislative
Body records the death of Norma Abbey, a woman of indomitable faith  and
dedication  whose purposeful life will long serve as a standard to which
others might aspire; and

  WHEREAS, Norma Abbey of Amherst, New York, died on  Wednesday,  June
5, 2019; and

  WHEREAS, Predeceased by her husband Michael, Norma Abbey is survived
by  her  loving  daughters,  Lisa  (David)  and  Amy;  and her son, Alan
(Sheryl); as well as eight  grandchildren,  Michael,  Robert,  Michelle,
James, Lyndsey, Alex, Ezra and Maayan; and

  WHEREAS,  Armed  with a humanistic spirit and imbued with a sense of
compassion, Norma Abbey leaves behind a legacy which  will  long  endure
the  passage  of  time and will remain as a comforting memory to all she
served and befriended; now, therefore, be it

  RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its  deliberations  to
mourn   the  death  of  Norma  Abbey,  wife,  mother,  grandmother,  and
distinguished citizen; and be it further

  RESOLVED, That a copy of this  Resolution,  suitably  engrossed,  be
transmitted to the family of Norma Abbey.
