        CONGRATULATING Madison Relyea upon the occasion of
        capturing  the  2020  NYSPHSAA Girls Nordic Combined
        Skiing Championship on February 25, 2020

  WHEREAS, Individual and team championships are highly  sought  after
in  high  school  sports;  this  Legislative Body commends rare athletic
achievements and pays special  recognition  to  those  who  pursue  such
excellence and become examples for the youth of this great Empire State;
and

  WHEREAS,  Athletic  competition  helps to enhance both the moral and
physical development of young athletes, preparing them for the future by
instilling in them the importance of teamwork, encouraging a standard of
healthy living, and developing a sense of fair play and competition; and

  WHEREAS, This Legislative  Body  is  justly  proud  to  congratulate
Madison  Relyea  upon  the  occasion  of capturing the 2020 Girls Nordic
Combined Skiing Championship on  Tuesday,  February  25,  2020,  at  the
Harriet  Hollister  Spencer  State  Recreation  Area in Springwater, New
York; and

  WHEREAS, A standout ski racer  for  Mayfield  High  School,  Madison
Relyea  accomplished  this monumental feat by placing second in the 7.5K
skate race with an outstanding time of  23:02.0  and  by  recording  the
fastest  split  time of 11:20.7 in the Girls 3x3K Classic Relay, helping
her team to a second place finish with a time of 36:41.5; and

  WHEREAS, The athletic talent displayed by Madison Relyea is  due  in
great  part  to the efforts of Head Coach Ryan Bornt and Assistant Coach
Bill Bryant, skilled  and  inspirational  tutors,  respected  for  their
ability to develop potential into excellence; and

  WHEREAS,  Madison Relyea's overall record is outstanding; throughout
the season, she  was  loyally  and  enthusiastically  supported  by  her
family, teammates, friends and the community at large; and

  WHEREAS,  Athletically  and  academically, Madison Relyea has proven
herself to be an unbeatable combination of talents, reflecting favorably
on her school; and

  WHEREAS, Head Coach Ryan Bornt has done a  superb  job  in  guiding,
molding and inspiring Madison Relyea towards her goals; and

  WHEREAS,  Sports  competition instills the values of teamwork, pride
and accomplishment, and Madison Relyea has clearly made  a  contribution
to  the  spirit  of  excellence which is a tradition of her school; now,
therefore, be it

  RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its  deliberations  to
congratulate  Madison  Relyea  upon  the  occasion of capturing the 2020
NYSPHSAA Girls Nordic Combined Skiing Championship on February 25, 2020;
and be it further

  RESOLVED, That copies of this  Resolution,  suitably  engrossed,  be
transmitted  to  Madison  Relyea,  Head  Coach Ryan Bornt, and Assistant
Coach Bill Bryant.
