Senate Resolution No. 2113 BY: Senator PARKER COMMEMORATING the 75th Anniversary of Abu Bekr Temple No. 74, Oasis of Brooklyn, Desert of New York, and paying tribute to this year's honoree WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to commend those illustrious organizations of the State of New York whose focus and intent have made a substantial impact on the quality of life in their communities; and WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern and in full accord with its long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commemorate the 75th Anniversary of Abu Bekr Temple No. 74, Oasis of Brooklyn, Desert of New York, and paying tribute to this year's honoree, Illustrious Commandress Daughter Maxine White-Brown, on Sunday, October 13, 2024, in New York City; and WHEREAS, This auspicious event will honor Illustrious Commandress Daughter Maxine White-Brown and the members of Abu Bekr Temple No. 74 for their ceaseless dedication to the local community, tirelessly giving of their time and energies to countless initiatives and programs throughout the year; and WHEREAS, Illustrious Commandress Daughter Maxine White-Brown, through her strong leadership, steady teaching, and unwavering love for her court, community, her family, and her sisters, has shown that leadership can be done with true grace and elegance; and WHEREAS, Abu Bekr Temple No. 74 is part of the Ancient Egyptian Arabic Order Nobles Mystic Shrine of North and South America and its Jurisdictions Incorporated, an organization which embraces the basic fundamental concepts of the Masonic Order with a broader spectrum of dispensing charity in the community; and WHEREAS, Currently, there are 224 Constituent Temples throughout the Imperial Domain (the World), with a membership of over 25,000 and growing; and WHEREAS, Over its distinguished 75-year history, Abu Bekr Temple No. 74 has demonstrated continuous service to the residents and communities which it serves; and WHEREAS, The success of Abu Bekr Temple No. 74 is in direct correlation to the efforts of Illustrious Commandress Daughter Maxine White-Brown and its dedicated members, whose involvement is, and always has been, characterized by an impressive commitment, an unbridled enthusiasm, and an uncompromising standard of excellence in all endeavors on behalf of the organization and the community it serves; and WHEREAS, This auspicious occasion presents an opportunity for this Legislative Body to recognize and pay tribute to Abu Bekr Temple No. 74; and WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body that when individuals and organizations of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our attention, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to commemorate the 75th Anniversary of Abu Bekr Temple No. 74, Oasis of Brooklyn, Desert of New York, and paying tribute to this year's honoree, Illustrious Commandress Daughter Maxine White-Brown; and be it further RESOLVED, That copies of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be transmitted to Illustrious Commandress Daughter Maxine White-Brown and Abu Bekr Temple No. 74, Oasis of Brooklyn, Desert of New York.
