        MOURNING  the death of Sergeant Daniel Paul DiDato
        of the East Fishkill Police Department

  WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to pay tribute to
citizens of the State of New York  whose  lifework  and  civic  endeavor
served to enhance the quality of life in their communities and the great
State of New York; and

  WHEREAS,  Daniel  Paul  DiDato  of  East Fishkill, New York, died on
Monday, December 18, 2023, at the age of 47; and

  WHEREAS, Daniel Paul DiDato distinguished himself in his  profession
and  by  his  sincere  dedication  and  substantial  contribution to the
welfare of his community; and

  WHEREAS, His commitment to excellence, and his spirit  of  humanity,
carried  over  into  all  fields of enterprise, including charitable and
civic endeavors; and

  WHEREAS, Daniel Paul DiDato was born to Robert and Edvige DiDato  in
Bronx,  New York, on February 29, 1976; in 1985, he and his family moved
to Hopewell Junction; he graduated from John Jay Senior High  School  in
1994  and  obtained  an  Associate of Arts in Liberal Arts from Dutchess
Community College in 2001; and

  WHEREAS, In 2001, Daniel Paul DiDato's  career  began  as  a  patrol
officer  at  the  New  York  City Department of Environmental Protection
where he served for four years; in 2005, he continued his service to his
community with the East Fishkill Police Department  where  he  performed
his duties for 18 years; and

  WHEREAS, While serving and protecting the people of the Town of East
Fishkill, Daniel Paul DiDato was a field training officer and earned two
lifesaving awards; and

  WHEREAS,  Daniel  Paul  DiDato  was a vital member of his community,
well known around town, and left an  extraordinary  impression;  he  was
revered as a dedicated and courageous police officer with enthusiasm for
his job and police department and pride in representing law enforcement;
and

  WHEREAS, In his personal life, Daniel Paul DiDato was an avid fan of
New  York's  sports  teams,  the  Rangers and the Yankees; he considered
himself to be a food (and pizza) connoisseur; and

  WHEREAS, Remembered by family members, friends,  and  colleagues  as
fun,  witty,  caring,  genuine,  and  reliable,  Daniel  Paul DiDato has
affected many individuals who were fortunate to know him; and

  WHEREAS, Daniel Paul DiDato is survived by his parents,  Robert  and
Edvige  (Miniaci) DiDato; brothers, Robert J. DiDato and Mark J. DiDato;
many cousins;  countless  friends;  and  brothers  and  sisters  in  law
enforcement; and


  WHEREAS,  Armed  with a humanistic spirit and imbued with a sense of
compassion, Daniel Paul DiDato leaves behind a legacy  which  will  long
endure the passage of time and will remain as a comforting memory to all
he served and befriended; now, therefore, be it

  RESOLVED,  That  this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
mourn the death of Sergeant Daniel Paul  DiDato  of  the  East  Fishkill
Police Department; and be it further

  RESOLVED,  That  a  copy  of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to the family of Sergeant Daniel Paul DiDato.
